A Social or Human Services Specialist identifies and arranges community services for clients. Can involve coordination of services for people with disabilities or those in recovery. They may also coordinate housing or job training assistance for immigrants, veterans, former inmates or families in crisis and can be involved in advocating for client needs.
The Volunteer Coordinator leads Habitat's Volunteer Engagement Program, helping expand affordable housing by recruiting, training, supporting, and recognizing volunteers throughout Carroll County. Working across our home construction, Critical Home Repair, Homeownership Readiness, and ReStore programs, you'll create exceptional volunteer experiences while building partnerships with businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, workforce development programs, and nonprofit partners. What You'll Do:
You'll help Habitat grow its impact by: Recruiting and engaging volunteers from across Carroll County. Building partnerships with businesses, churches, schools, civic groups, and community organizations. Creating meaningful volunteer experiences that inspire long-term engagement. Supporting workforce development opportunities for individuals seeking job skills and community connections. Coordinating volunteers across construction sites, Critical Home Repair projects, the ReStore, and community events. Measuring volunteer engagement and using feedback to continually strengthen the program. Preferred Qualifications:
We're looking for someone with experience in one or more of the following: Volunteer management Community engagement Workforce development Nonprofit leadership Human services Education Partnership development Flexible to work on some weekend and evenings, in the office, at the Restore, on build sites, and in the community.
