Pay:
$20.00 per hour
Hours:
Part-time, approximately 24-30 hours per week. Schedule may vary based on department needs. The anticipated regular schedule is Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional or adjusted evening and weekend hours as needed to support Community Center programs, special events, and Community Services activities.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Community Services Director, the Community Services Assistant works alongside the Senior Resources Coordinator serving as the primary staff member responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Meals on Wheels & Senior Café Programs, while also supporting general Community Center operations and programming, senior programming, Community Park activities, special events, and other Community Services initiatives. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Leading volunteers to ensure home-delivered meals are prepared, packed, distributed, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with program requirements. Preparing the dining room for congregate meal service, including sanitizing tables and equipment, preparing coffee, setting up the serving area, portioning and serving meals, and clean-up. Assisting with required record keeping and reporting for Senior Nutrition Programs. Assisting with the planning, setup, operation, and cleanup of Community Center and Community Park programs and special events. Performing general administrative duties including answering phones, data entry, filing, record keeping, copying, and other clerical tasks.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Michigan driver's license with a safe driving record. Must have SERV Safe Food Handler or SERV Safe Manager Certification or be willing to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire. Training and certification may be provided by the Township. Ability to maintain schedule flexibility to work a regular Tuesday through Thursday schedule, with some evening and weekend availability as needed for programs, special events, and department needs.
