Job Description

The Community Service Officer I provides support to the Police Department through animal control, parking enforcement, equipment maintenance, and administrative duties. This position works 24 hours per week, primarily evenings and weekends. 2026
Salary Range:
$24.45-$32.60/hour. CSOs are often candidates for future Police Officer positions. Qualified candidates must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and good driving record, and an interest in law enforcement. Candidates must be enrolled in, or committed to enrolling in, an accredited law enforcement program by September 1, 2026, and have or obtain Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification within one year. Candidates must communicate effectively and respectfully under stress, work outdoors in inclement weather, and work with animals. Related experience preferred.
