Job Description
The Elk River Police Department is seeking a Community Service Officer I to support police operations through animal control, parking enforcement, equipment maintenance, and administrative duties. This temporary, part-time position works 24 hours per week, primarily evenings and weekends, with a 2026 salary range of $24.45-$32.60/hour. This opportunity is designed for law enforcement students to gain valuable experience and may lead to future Police Officer positions with the department. The position lasts one to three years, depending on education and performance. Applicants must be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and good driving record, and an interest in law enforcement. Candidates must be enrolled in or committed to an accredited law enforcement program by October 1, 2026, and obtain EMR certification within one year. Strong communication skills, professionalism under stress, and the ability to work outdoors and with animals are required. Related experience preferred.
