Benefits Category:
This is an hourly, non-exempt, position. Benefits eligible if working 30 or more hours per week. PTO eligible if working 35 or more hours per week. ESOP benefits upon meeting plan entry requirements.
Schedule:
Part-time day position available with flexible scheduling (hours are based on the job schedule of the person served and therefore may change or vary) What you will bring to our team: An ESS must understand the different needs of individuals with disabilities. As an ESS you must have the ability to exercise flexibility and assertiveness, have a positive work ethic, problem solve, and navigate crisis situations effectively. An ESS must also be able to work without direct supervision. Possess a valid driver's license and pass a Motor Vehicle Record check. Must not be disqualified by criminal background studies. Meet the physical requirements as outlined in this position description and physical assessment form (pushing/pulling, lifting, bending, etc.). Able to read and write in English. Able to document information electronically. Prior experience or training not required, but desirable. An Employment Services Specialist (ESS) supports persons served with community employment by exploring career opportunities, developing job skills, and supporting individual on the job site to find and maintain competitive, integrated community employment. An ESS must possess a high level of sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities to help individuals be interdependent members and active participants within the community. The right person for this position would be eager to help in the following areas: Supporting the person served in achieving success in community employment by assisting with daily living and work readiness tasks. Supporting and encouraging the person served in participation in community activities. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation. Safely transporting the person served to and from work and community activities. Attending new hire orientation with person served as needed.
