This is a temporary, full time position. The position starts in October 2026 and will last until the program is done. This could be until 2/2027. Complete intake with potentially eligible consumers for the Home Relief programs. Assess the needs of clients and initiate appropriate referrals and linkage to services. Acquire and maintain knowledge of all emergency assistance programs. Educate clients on program components and guidelines. Respond to client inquiries and requests regarding program intake procedures, program objectives, requirements and other related information by telephone, appointments, walk-ins and outside agency referrals. Utilize multiple data programs/systems to schedule appointments, complete intakes, obtain client information, and track program outcomes. During the intake process assess client needs, complete application(s), obtain and review the accuracy of income verification and other required documentation to support client eligibility. Complete computer data input to assure prompt vendor payment. Provide case management services as needed. Maintain accurate confidential client files with required documentation and related reports. Contact utility companies, landlords and other community partners to obtain and relay necessary information related to the service/benefit being provided to each client. Coordinate referrals and service provision with other NOCAC programs and services and with other social service agencies as appropriate. Advocate, educate and promote the benefit of various emergency programs and services. Serve as liaison with service area by reporting to supervisor pertinent information that may affect low income clients. Monitor periodicals, media announcements, news releases, outside agency newsletters, and other materials to identify resources and/or issues that may affect clients. Provide statistical reports related to case management to supervisor as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements for Education and Experience Minimum of an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field. Two (2) years demonstrated public service experience including intake, data entry and report completion, preferred. Experience in program intake procedures; dynamics of poverty, abuse, dependency and other stressors; client advocacy and linkage services; general principles and code of ethics for working with disadvantaged persons; preferred. Other Must possess good communication skills Must have a valid state of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under the NOCAC vehicle insurance policy. Pre-employment and ongoing job requirements as specified by the funding source and/or NOCAC policy including, but not limited to: background screening, drug/alcohol screening, employment physical, etc. Must be proficient in use and knowledge of computers systems/software /MS Office software, etc. Must be sensitive to the needs of low-income individuals and able to work with individuals of all cultural backgrounds and ages. Must maintain professional boundaries, including confidentiality and ethics at all times.
