Recovery Specialist Position Overview Woodhaven Recovery is seeking a compassionate, dependable professional to join our innovative residential recovery program for adolescent boys ages 14-18. Our integrated model brings together recovery principles, clinical engagement, individualized academics, recreation, family programming, and thoughtful planning for each student's future. The Recovery Specialist plays an essential role in residents' daily lives. This position provides consistent supervision, guidance, and mentorship while helping residents develop resilience, accountability, healthy routines, and the life skills necessary for sustained recovery.

Position Details Location:

213 New Hope Lane, Factoryville, PA 18419 Primary Responsibilities

• Provide attentive day-to-day supervision while maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
• Build positive, professional relationships with residents through mentoring, encouragement, and clear expectations.
• Facilitate recovery-focused groups and conversations that promote self-awareness, accountability, and personal growth.
• Guide and support residents in 12-Step work and in applying recovery principles to their daily lives.
• Accompany and supervise residents during recreational activities, recovery meetings, appointments, and community outings.
• Assist with medication administration, drug and alcohol screening, documentation, and other required program procedures.
• Collaborate with clinicians, families, educators, and team members to support each resident's individualized recovery plan.
• Help coordinate family programming, community events, and meaningful recreational experiences.
• Respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations using appropriate crisis-intervention and de-escalation strategies.
• Serve as a consistent, healthy role model for young people navigating early recovery. Qualifications and Attributes
• Knowledge of 12-Step recovery principles is required
• Valid driver's license required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Experience with adolescents in behavioral health, substance use recovery, education, mentoring, or residential programming is strongly valued.
• Ability to balance compassion with clear boundaries, structure, and accountability.
• Strong communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills.
• Dependable, collaborative, and comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
