Job Description

INTAKE WORKER EMERGENCY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Full-time (40 hours per week)
North Kingston, RI General Responsibility :
Direct contact with Washington County residents in need of emergency services, with discussion, needs assessment, review and research to coordinate services and referrals appropriately for each individual household.
Specific Responsibilities :
Assisting clients: may include greeting applicants with appointments/walk in; addressing/resolving any inquires and scheduling appointments, etc. Implementation of programs (LiHEAP, Food, Housing, Weatherization etc) by taking/completing/filing applications, utilizing office equipment, basic knowledge of computer programs. Conversing with vendors/contractors and/or Program Grantors. Mailing confirmation letters to applicants/vendors. Maintaining necessary case notes and relevant spreadsheets. Generating outreach activities for potential clients in agency service area. Any other duties as assigned by Program Director, Chief Operating Officer or President/CEO.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Special Qualifications :
Able to operate basic office equipment and possess the basic knowledge of computer programs. Pleasant/friendly approach to clients, community and coworkers. Flexible. Demonstrate an understanding of everyone's experiences, every day. Ensuring the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters.
