Nashville WIC participants receive vital child health and development education, breastfeeding support, and healthy food benefits from compassionate and culturally competent staff. Davidson County WIC is seeking a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to join the team and help promote breastfeeding among pregnant and post-partum women. Typical Duties Provide group or individual breastfeeding counseling to prenatal and breastfeeding mothers. Identify and implement appropriate intervention for breastfeeding women. Coordinate participant care with WIC nutrition staff. Provide appropriate referrals. Maintain breastfeeding contact logs. Assist WIC staff in breastfeeding promotion. Maintain breastfeeding pumps and supplies inventory. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must have Personal Lactation experience. ( Personal lactation is federally required as a minimum of 1 baby breastfed for at least 6 months). Full-time, Civil Service positions
