Job Description

Job Summary The National Alliance on Mental Illness Chippewa Valley (NAMI CV) Youth Programs and Outreach Coordinator works to oversee the NAMI CV Youth Programs and works with schools and other youth-serving organizations within the community to support the NAMI CV mission to provide education, support, and advocacy for individuals living with a mental illness and their families. Youth Program Coordinator Responsibilities Oversee implementation of all NAMI Chippewa Valley Youth Programs Recruit, onboard, arrange for training, and supervise NAMI Youth Program Facilitators Host periodic meetings for Youth Program Facilitators to address topics of concern, new policies and practices, and introduce new leaders Maintain program and evaluation data Youth Outreach Responsibilities Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, and forms Collaborate with schools and other youth serving organizations to promote NAMI CV Youth Programs Marketing and Promotional Responsibilities Collaborate with other program coordinators to establish a robust monthly social media plan to Create social media posts to promote Youth Programs and Youth Mental Health within the NAMI CV service area (minimum of 2 social media posts per week) Collaborate with community partners on various social media campaigns when applicable General Responsibilities Answer and direct phone calls Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports Provide general support to visitors/callers Collaborate with other NAMI CV staff, volunteers, and board members to enhance community events and fundraising efforts Perform tasks and activities as directed by the
Executive Director Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a youth-specific field (education, child development, child welfare, social work, etc) OR High School diploma with demonstrated experience in working with youth ages 10-18 (parenting, child care, camp counselor, etc) Knowledge of issues facing individuals living with mental illnesses and their families Demonstrated ability to work independently Excellent time management skills and the ability to identify priorities in work Attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good written and verbal communication skills Comfortable with public speaking Experience working in a team setting Highly effective communication, organizational, and leadership skills Proficiency in Google Office Suite/MS Office Suite, virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom, Meet) and Canva Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends This position requires frequent travel within the NAMI Chippewa Valley service area (Eau Claire, Chippewa, and Dunn Counties) with infrequent overnight travel outside of the service area for training - all travel expenses are covered and mileage is reimbursed at the current federal reimbursement rate. Access to a reliable personal vehicle to use for work, a valid driver's license & proof of insurance are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years+ experience working with youth 2 years+ experience working with persons living with a mental illness or disability Familiarity with NAMI and mental illness Experience working with multidisciplinary teams Experience with data collection and evaluation
Other Information:
This is a limited-term employment opportunity with potential for extension (current grant expires 8/31/27) 15-20 hours/week Benefits are: Paid time off (includes paid holidays and personal days, as well as accrued vacation days and sick/health/wellness days), flexible work schedule based on agency and employee needs Work is primarily in office with potential for remote work options weekly Please submit a resume and cover letter and three references to jobs@namicv.org by September 13th
