You will be responsible for facilitating groups, counseling clients on services available for treatment, helping combat relapses, and building long-term life skills to maintain sobriety.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct groups and 1:1 counseling sessions with clients per program standards and document progress and participation.
• Obtain clinical information from the intake assessment, medical hx questionnaire, biopsychosocial assessment and use the information to develop and implement a collaborative treatment plan.
• Maintains thorough clinical records for clients, including all services provided as part of individualized episode.
• Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties, if applicable.
• Educate families and groups on substance abuse treatments and prevention programs
• Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals.
• Assists the client in discharge planning, identifying needs, and linking client to services
• Ensures documentation adheres to all regulatory time-frames and requirements

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in counseling with a focus on group therapy and clinical documentation.
• Experience in conflict resolution
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Certification with a state of California counselor certifying organization Minimum requirements for position are:
• Physical, TB test, Drug Screen, able to present in a professional fashion orally and physically, maintain and uphold strong boundaries while having a therapeutic manner.
• If recovering from substance abuse, must have at least one year of continuous sobriety
• Knowledge of 12 step base recovery a plus but not mandatory.
• Pay scale will be determined by experience and education
