A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Bilingual Substance Use Counselor - DUI Riverside Recovery Resources Riverside, CA Job Details Part-time $20 - $23 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Spanish Teamwork Zoom English High school diploma or GED Organizational skills Video conferences (communication methods) Time management Full Job Description Riverside Recovery Resources (RRR) is looking for a part-time Bilingual (Spanish) Substance Use Counselor to join our team for our DUI program at our Riverside office. Bilingual in Spanish is required, as you will be conducting groups and individual sessions with clients in Spanish. This position is part-time in the evenings, as well as Saturday mornings. RRR is a DUI provider for court-mandated and DMV-ordered participants for DUI education. The DUI Counselor will be involved with group and individual counseling and education sessions with clients, and responsible for documentation and charting for each client.
Qualifications:
  • Registered or Certified in Substance Use Counseling with a valid California credential (RADT, CADC, SUDCC, etc.)
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) - Required
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Current TB test (or ability to obtain)
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills preferred, including Microsoft Outlook and Zoom
  • Ability to follow strict confidentiality guidelines, including knowledge of HIPAA laws
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and documentation skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge of applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct Pay rate will depend upon qualifications.
