A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

PAY:

$20.00 per hour

JOB TYPE

Part -Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

: 1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for a diverse client population. 2. Monitor and track activities to prevent substance abuse. 3. Transports clients as needed and assigned. (Day/Evening shift).

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE/REGISTRATION

CPR/FA Certification Current driver's license, clean driving abstract and current car insurance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1. H.S. Degree or GED 2. Previous experience working in a substance abuse treatment center preferred.
