Penn North Recovery is seeking an Addictions Counselor/ Substance Use Disorder Counselor to provide group and individual counseling services and evaluations for the treatment and rehabilitation of substance abuse clients. The Addictions Counselor must have at least one of the following certifications or licenses through the

Maryland Board of Professional Counselors:

CSC-AD, CAC-AD or at the very minimum, a letter from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors approving you to be able to work as a trainee (A "Trainee Letter" from the Board)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs ASAM criteria and other necessary clinical testing on addictions clients. Facilitates group counseling for clients. Conducts individual counseling sessions to achieve treatment goals and objectives. Prepares clear, accurate, and informative case reports and client histories containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Creates client referrals to other treatment agencies. Consults with court officials, parole and probationary departments, social service departments, and any other additional necessary agencies to receive and/or provide relevant information pertaining to the client and his/her treatment progress. Maintains the required State of Maryland clinical licensing. Completes comprehensive assessments of the substance abuse history (of assigned clients) and develops a treatment plan with attainable goals, thereby, creating a uniquely-developed, individualized treatment plan for each assigned client. Documentation of the clients' progress/response to treatment, overall treatment agenda, and discharge plans as well as maintain accurate and updated records and charts for each assigned client. Attends and participates in all required seminars, workshops, and in-house trainings to ensure continual development and growth professionally in the field. Based on each clients' assessment results/findings, the Addictions Counselor will mindfully compose and develop developmentally-appropriate treatment plans and, furthermore, provide clients with consistent and continual support and encouragement to follow ones' uniquely-designed plan.

High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
