A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Bachelors Degree Our client is seeking a motivated professional to work as a Part Time Substance Abuse Counselor in the South Plainfield, NJ area.SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Conducts assessments and develops a service plan
- Provide counseling treatment
- Facilitate individual or group therapies in home with youth and families
- Conducts treatment plans for individual, and/or groups
- Schedule intakes and appointments in a timely fashion
- Provide ongoing assesments for saftey risks and utilize interventions to mitigate saftey issues.
- Provides Psycho-education on harm reduction
CLIENT'S SCHEDULE FOR THE OPPORTUNITY
- upto 25 Hours per week - Schedule is flexible in both morning and evening hours
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have LCADC, CADC or CADC Intern License or status in the state of NJ
- TB, Physical, MMR Titers or Vaccination Record
- Background Check
- Must meet the License(s) requirement
- Must have experience working with the drug and alcohol population
