Overview:

DeCoach Recovery Centre is seeking a qualified and compassionate individual to join our team as a Driver's Intervention Program (DIP) Counselor. The DIP Counselor will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with impaired driving offenses. This position requires, at minimum, an active Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio.

Responsibilities:

Client Screenings:

Conduct thorough assessments and screenings of program participants.

Gather relevant information to determine individualized treatment needs.

Referrals:

Provide appropriate referrals to additional support services based on participant needs.

Collaborate with external agencies and resources to enhance the participant's overall support network.

Discharge Planning:

Develop and implement effective discharge plans tailored to each participant's progress.

Coordinate with the treatment team to ensure a smooth transition post-program.

Group Education:

Facilitate group education sessions on topics related to substance abuse and impaired driving.

Develop and deliver engaging and informative content to program participants.

Counseling Services:

Conduct individual counseling sessions to address specific participant needs.

Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the participant's involvement in the program.

Requirements:

Active Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio is mandatory.

Previous experience in substance abuse counseling or related field is preferred.

Strong knowledge of addiction treatment principles and evidence-based practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
