A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Description

The Red Zone is seeking a motivated CDCA to join our growing team. This position provides support and direct services to individuals in recovery, working under supervision to promote wellness, stability, and independence.
Responsibilities include:
Providing individual and group services focused on substance use recovery Supporting clients in developing skills Completing documentation in accordance with OhioMHAS and Medicaid standards Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community partners Assisting with case coordination, assessments, treatment planning, and discharge support
Qualifications:
Current Ohio CDCA certification required Experience working with substance use or behavioral health populations preferred Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Passion for empowering clients on their recovery journey
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
