A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Bachelors Degree One of our clients is seeking a Drug & Alcohol Therapist to provide SUD & co-occurring services in Norristown!SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Provide assessment services as needed; determine proper level of care.
- Provide aftercare planning services.
- Maintain an active caseload of patients.
- Deliver therapeutic services including: individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Maintain required patient records including treatment plans, group and individual progress notes, and case management notes.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree or HIGHER in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling from an accredited university or bachelors degree with equivalent experience
- Licensure and certification or in process preferred (LPC,LSW,LCSW,CAADC,CADC,CAAD,AAC,CAAC,CCS) encouraged to reply
- Minimum of one year experience working with mental health & psychiatric populations.
- Experience must include one (1) year of direct work experience with the psychiatric, mental health and/or co-occurring patients (MH & ADD).
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to complete and pass clearances: State Criminal Check, Child Abuse (ACT 126) & CPR/FA Certification.
