Duties Assist licensed clinicians with intake assessments, clinical documentation, and treatment planning using electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA standards. Support individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and behavioral management techniques. Conduct patient evaluations including diagnostic assessments based on DSM-5 criteria, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10), and clinical observation to inform treatment strategies. Participate in crisis intervention efforts, providing immediate support during behavioral or mental health emergencies while coordinating with emergency responders when necessary. Engage in case management activities such as patient care coordination, home and community care planning, and follow-up to ensure continuity of care. Collect data for research purposes related to addiction counseling, mental health outcomes, and treatment efficacy to support quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to clinical documentation standards, medical terminology protocols, and CPT coding requirements for billing purposes. Skills Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and evidence-based behavioral health interventions. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions such as PTSD or anxiety disorders. Proficiency in crisis management, crisis intervention strategies, and de-escalation techniques within hospital or community settings. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR management), medical records management, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation standards, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform patient assessment through clinical interviews, diagnostic evaluation, and behavioral observations while maintaining confidentiality. Excellent communication skills for child & family counseling sessions, group therapy facilitation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Knowledge of medical terminology related to addiction medicine, mental health counseling, case management, and behavioral health services.
