Essential duties include assessing clients, developing and modifying treatment plans, coordinating care, supervising staff and interns, managing documentation, and collaborating with mental health and community professionals. They facilitate crisis intervention, advocate for clients, and coordinate family and aftercare services. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, leadership, and project management skills. Qualifications include certified substance abuse counseling, preferably with 3-5 years of experience, and knowledge of trauma-informed care and clinical documentation.
