Overview Join our dynamic behavioral health team as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor at the ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Responsibilities Deliver individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques. Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes or emotional distress. Maintain accurate clinical documentation adhering to medical documentation standards, HIPAA regulations, and electronic health records (EHR) management protocols. Perform case management duties, including patient care planning, progress tracking, and data collection for continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with medical professionals on co-occurring disorder treatment plans, integrating addiction medicine principles with mental health care. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis, and behavior management strategies. Skilled in crisis intervention, crisis management, and trauma-informed care including PTSD-specific approaches. Excellent client assessment skills with the ability to develop personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and data collection; understanding of medical terminology and hospital experience is a plus. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations from various cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Strong communication skills for client engagement, case management, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
