Manage and oversee service delivery for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in the designated area, which includes the Area 7: South Valley, Los Lunas, and Socorro offices. How does it get done? Key responsibilities for this position include:

Comprehensive Service Management:

Oversee a wide range of vocational rehabilitation services to ensure effective delivery within the assigned district. This includes managing operations to meet annual federal standards and state performance-based budget goals.

Supervisory Duties:

Directly supervise a team, which may include both direct and indirect reports, and provide an oversight of additional staff as business needs arise.

Human Resources Management:

Handle administrative tasks related to staff management, such as processing leave requests, conducting annual performance evaluations, and administering disciplinary actions when necessary.

Case Management Oversight:

Review and approve participant cases by determining eligibility, approving Individual Plans for Employment, managing budget considerations, addressing participant complaints, and overseeing case closures.

Employee Development:

Coach, mentor, and train assigned employees to foster professional growth and enhance overall service effectiveness. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective management and delivery of vocational rehabilitation services while promoting staff development in the assigned area. Who are the customers? People with disabilities, New Mexico Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (NMDVR) Staff, Partner Agencies, and the General Public. Ideal Candidate People with disabilities, New Mexico Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (NMDVR) Staff, Partner Agencies, and the General Public. Minimum Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Family Studies/Services and six (6) years of experience as a social work assistant and/or in social or community coordination, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, health care, and/or behavioral health care, of which two (2) years must be supervisory experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Candidates must either possess a valid K-12 license or have the ability to obtain one. Occasional travel is required. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
