to deliver high-quality after-school youth development programs across Oakland and the East Bay. PLAY! is a child-centered youth development program that uses simple soccer-based games, movement and play to help children feel safe, included and supported.

Our programs help children build:

Confidence and self-esteem Teamwork and social skills Positive relationships with others A love of movement and physical activity This is not a competitive soccer coaching position. It is a nurturing after-school role focused on helping young children, particularly TK-2nd Grade students, feel encouraged, supported and excited to participate. You do not need to be an experienced soccer coach. We are looking for warm, reliable and patient people who understand children. We provide the curriculum, activities, equipment and support you need to deliver successful sessions. What You'll Do Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for TK-5th Grade students. Lead simple, fun games and movement activities, often using a soccer ball and basic equipment. Support children in developing confidence, teamwork, communication and social skills. Encourage children to share, take turns, listen and support one another. Adapt activities for different personalities, energy levels and abilities so everyone can participate. Maintain a calm, patient and encouraging approach. Communicate professionally with school staff and families when needed. Arrive prepared and reliably fulfil accepted coaching assignments. Soccer experience is helpful but not required.
