Duties Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety through attentive child supervision and childcare practices Facilitate a variety of youth programs, including arts, sports, outdoor activities, and educational games that promote childhood development and social skills Manage classroom and activity areas with effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive environment Implement behavior management strategies to support children's emotional well-being and encourage respectful interactions Lead youth group activities, fostering teamwork, leadership, and community spirit among participants Collaborate with team members to plan engaging curriculum activities aligned with youth development program standards Support children with special needs by adapting activities as necessary and working closely with specialized staff when applicable Assist with outdoor work experiences, ensuring safety during outdoor play and excursions while promoting outdoor learning opportunities Uphold all safety procedures related to first aid, CPR, and general child safety regulations Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, camp programs, or youth groups is highly desirable Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Certification in first aid, and CPR, willingness to obtain or renew certifications if needed Experience facilitating youth programs or teaching young children in educational or recreational environments Strong classroom management skills with the ability to lead activities effectively and maintain a positive atmosphere Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members Ability to work outdoors comfortably in various weather conditions; outdoor work experience preferred Join us as an After-School Counselor to inspire young minds while developing your leadership skills in a lively, supportive environment.
