Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic After-School Counselor to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children during after-school hours. In this role, you will facilitate a variety of youth programs, supervise children in different settings, and promote positive development through fun and educational activities. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help foster a sense of community and support children's social, emotional, and academic growth. Duties Facilitate safe and timely transportation from school at dismissal Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Lead engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects that promote childhood development Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment Implement first aid protocols when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to respond promptly to emergencies Facilitate youth group activities that encourage teamwork, leadership, and social skills Collaborate with team members to develop inclusive programs tailored for children with special education needs or behavioral challenges Qualifications 18 years of age or older Clean driving record Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices Certification in first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and first aid protocols required or obtainable upon hire Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors effectively Background in special education or experience working with children with special needs is a plus Excellent child supervision skills combined with patience and enthusiasm for working with young learners Previous experience in outdoor work environments or sports coaching is advantageous Ability to lead activities confidently while fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere Join us as an After-School Counselor to inspire young minds through dynamic programming and compassionate leadership!
