YWCA Minneapolis What You'll Do:

As a Beacons Center Youth Counselor, you'll provide direct service to participants in the Beacons Learning Center at Hmong International Academy. Beacons provides after-school academic and enrichment opportunities with a focus on inspiring youth to make positive decisions for themselves and their futures to students in grades K-5. Plan, prepare and facilitate/co-facilitate age appropriate and culturally informed educational activities utilizing and/or creating Youth Development curriculumSupport in recruiting and maintaining program participantHelp develop and maintain a safe learning environment that is student-centered, mission-focused, and accessible to a diverse student bodySupport communication and retention with participants and families Track program attendance daily and enter information into database on regular basisParticipate in educational activities and trainings for professional and programmatic development including attending and participating in departmental and Beacons program team meetingsAdditional duties as assigned
