  • 35 hour work week-8:00 am
  • 3:30 pm If you have teaching experience and a passion for empowering youth, you may be an excellent fit for our Youth Team here at Jersey Cape Life Empowerment Hub.
This role requires a bachelor's degree and a genuine drive to create positive change in the nonprofit sector. Jersey Cape Life Empowerment Hub is seeking a Youth Counselor to provide GED instruction for out-of-school youth, as well as in-school supports for students facing barriers to learning throughout Cape May County. We are looking for a motivated self-starter who can meet local youth where they are, build meaningful instructional experiences, and guide students toward success in school or achievement of their GED, leading to greater employment opportunities. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders are essential. Youth Programs at Jersey Cape Life Empowerment Hub use a trauma-informed approach designed to make education and job seeking an empowering experience. We help youth build the soft and hard skills they can carry with them wherever their careers lead. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to various worksites throughout Cape May County
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, state paperwork procedures, intakes, and GED testing processes
  • Experience in teaching, counseling, program coordination, or nonprofit services preferred
  • Three or more years of education or employment services experience preferred
  • ASL or Spanish language skills encouraged to apply
  • Strong observational skills-Strong writing skills
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development courses-Passion for advocacy, equity, and inclusion
  • Flexible schedule; occasional nights and weekends may be required
