Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, positive, and youth-focused individual to provide supervision, mentoring, and program support for children and adolescents participating in our youth programming. The Youth Mentor & Program Support Specialist will help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment while assisting with recreational, educational, social-emotional, and skill-building activities. The ideal candidate enjoys working with youth, communicates well with families, and can remain calm and professional when supporting youth who may experience behavioral or emotional challenges.

Schedule & Compensation Regular Schedule:

Monday-Thursday, 5:30 PM-7:30

PM Additional Coverage:

3:30 PM start time only when additional coverage is needed.

Starting Pay:

$15.00 per hour during the first month.

Pay Increase:

Pay will increase after the employee completes the required credentialing process and receives the appropriate credential. Schedule may vary occasionally based on program activities, field trips, special events, or coverage needs. Key Responsibilities Supervise youth during programming, recreational activities, field trips, and community activities. Provide supervision and support while youth participate in scheduled programming. Supervise students as needed while they wait to be picked up by their parent, guardian, or authorized individual. Ensure youth remain safe and appropriately supervised until they are picked up. Assist with planning and facilitating age-appropriate youth programming as needed. Provide positive mentoring and encouragement to help youth develop confidence, social skills, responsibility, and healthy decision-making. Provide supportive mental health and emotional assistance within the scope of the position, training, and agency guidelines. Assist youth with identifying and practicing healthy coping skills, communication skills, emotional regulation, and conflict-resolution strategies. Monitor youth behavior and provide appropriate redirection when necessary. Maintain a safe, structured, respectful, and welcoming environment for all youth. Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding program activities, schedules, participation, and general concerns. Build positive relationships with youth while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Assist with community outings, events, and field trips. Communicate concerns regarding youth safety, behavior, or well-being to the appropriate supervisor. Complete required program documentation and follow agency procedures. Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and youth-protection guidelines. Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure youth receive consistent support. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, adolescents, families, behavioral health, mentoring, education, childcare, or community programs preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish appropriate boundaries while building positive relationships with youth. Ability to manage challenging behaviors calmly and professionally. Reliable and dependable. Ability to work Monday-Thursday evenings. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in social work, psychology, education, behavioral health, or a related field is a plus. Willingness to complete required credentialing and agency training. Position Note:

This position provides youth supervision, mentoring, programming support, and supportive services. It does not independently provide clinical therapy or diagnose mental health conditions unless the employee obtains the appropriate professional credentials and is specifically assigned those duties.
