Coach Summary Are you someone who enjoys helping teenagers grow, develop positive skills, and take steps toward greater independence? We are looking for a compassionate and dependable Coach to support 17-year-old youth who are participating in day treatment at Hope Street after meeting behavioral and program expectations at our sister Residential Treatment Center (RTC). The Coach will pick up youth from the RTC, transport them to Hope Street, provide support and supervision throughout the day, and return them to the residential facility as scheduled. The Coach's primary role is to provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where youth can practice age-appropriate independence while receiving the supervision they need as minors. You'll help youth develop practical life skills, make appropriate decisions, follow routines and expectations, participate in programming, and build confidence as they prepare for increased independence. You'll also work closely with RTC staff, therapists, and other Hope Street team members to provide consistent support and communicate about each youth's progress, needs, and behavior. The Schedule This is a Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM position. The Coach will pick up youth from the sister Residential Treatment Center in the morning, transport them to Hope Street for day treatment, provide support and supervision throughout the day, and return them to the residential facility at the end of the day. The schedule is generally consistent and follows the Hope Street day treatment program. Occasional adjustments may be needed based on appointments, community activities, or other program responsibilities.

Duties Responsibilities may include:

Pick up youth from the sister Residential Treatment Center and transport them safely to Hope Street Provide appropriate supervision of youth throughout the day Support youth in participating in day treatment programming and activities Foster independence while maintaining appropriate supervision and structure Teach and reinforce practical life skills such as communication, organization, time management, problem-solving, and self-advocacy Encourage youth to make appropriate choices and take responsibility for their actions Reinforce behavioral expectations, program rules, and treatment goals Serve as a positive role model and mentor Accompany youth during approved community activities, appointments, and other program-related activities Monitor and communicate behavioral, safety, or other concerns to the appropriate staff Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities, observations, and progress Communicate and collaborate with RTC staff, therapists, and other team members Participate in team meetings and other program activities Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality Follow all policies and procedures related to the supervision and transportation of minors Return youth safely to the residential facility as scheduled The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with teenagers and can balance encouragement, accountability, structure, and appropriate supervision.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum age of 21 High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to safely transport and appropriately supervise minors Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality Ability to pass required Utah state background screenings

Preferred:

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field Experience working with adolescents in residential, behavioral health, educational, or similar settings Experience working with youth with behavioral or emotional needs Experience teaching life skills or supporting youth in developing independence Experience providing coaching, mentoring, or direct support Work Environment Work takes place primarily at Hope Street, the sister Residential Treatment Center, and in approved community settings. The position requires driving, walking, standing, and actively engaging with youth throughout the day. The Coach will transport youth between the RTC and Hope Street and may accompany them to appointments, educational activities, community activities, or other approved programming. Because the youth served are minors, the Coach is expected to provide appropriate supervision while also giving youth opportunities to make choices, solve problems, and practice independence within the boundaries of their treatment plan and program expectations.
