Qualifications and Required Experience:

Current Multi-Categorical Special Education certification in South Carolina (required) Previous experience teaching or working with elementary-aged children with diverse learning needs Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, families, and support staff Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Compassionate, patient, and adaptable teaching approach

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver tailored instructional activities for K-3 students in a self-contained setting Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom climate Assess students' abilities, progress, and needs, and update IEPs as necessary in accordance with state and federal guidelines Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and administrative personnel Engage with families to keep them informed and involved in their child's educational journey Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required
