Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in students' lives by supporting their educational journeys as an in-person Special Education Coordinator for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers vital roles for passionate professionals comfortable working in-person within a collaborative environment.
Three coordinator positions are available:
serving high school, middle school, and elementary school caseloads respectively, each designed to provide focused case coordination and work closely with dedicated special educators under a dyad model. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic and skilled in individualized education planning and compliance with state regulations. Providing structured guidance and advocacy, you will be instrumental in ensuring every student receives the support and resources tailored to their unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid state teaching certification in special education (required) Proven experience in individualized education plan (IEP) development, coordination, and implementation Comfortable collaborating directly with students, classroom teachers, service providers, and families Ability to meet compliance standards for special programs and maintain thorough documentation Strong communication and organizational skills Experience in high school, elementary, or middle school settings (matching your preferred caseload) Must work in-person, as this position is not virtual
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate special education services for assigned caseloads in high school, elementary, or middle school settings Lead and document IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and communication with parents/guardians, teachers, and support staff Track student progress data and adjust supports as needed in alignment with educational goals Collaborate with the special educator dyad partner and other team members Maintain accurate, timely records in accordance with state guidelines The school district is looking for professionals ready to take ownership of this pivotal support role, fostering student growth and inclusion.
