Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, focused on high school resource and push-in support. This role is based in Kasilof, AK, within a school setting and is a contract position. While the candidate should be open to travel, preference will be given to those seeking a long-term placement in the local area.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to high school students with diverse learning needs. Deliver resource room and push-in services to accommodate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and ensure student success. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to maximize learning outcomes. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment tailored to unique student requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Experience working with high school students in special education settings. Strong knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education. Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families. Ability to manage and implement individualized instruction plans.
