Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Passionate about supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs? Here's an opportunity to make a lasting impact in an elementary center-based classroom focused on Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD). This contract position offers full-time hours, running from late August 2026 through early June 2027. The assignment involves working with a small group of six students in grades 3-5, in a structured special education setting reinforced by a dedicated support team. Engage daily in meaningful work that nurtures academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and positive behavior for each child.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Current, active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License EBD licensure highly preferred Proven experience in center-based or high-needs behavioral classroom settings Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing IEPs, BIPs, progress monitoring, and behavioral interventions Exceptional classroom management and behavior de-escalation abilities Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills Experience in Setting III or center-based classrooms (preferred) Background with PBIS, CPI, or trauma-informed behavioral intervention strategies (preferred) Prior work supporting elementary students with behavioral needs (preferred)Responsibilities:
Provide specialized, individualized instruction and behavioral support for elementary students with EBD Create and uphold a structured, positive learning environment supported by classroom staff Develop and implement IEPs, coordinate BIPs, and use effective data-driven progress monitoring Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and school teams to ensure comprehensive student support Foster inclusive, supportive communication between students, families, and school personnel If you have a passion for special education and a commitment to helping students thrive, this is your chance to help shape young lives.
