Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting 4th and 5th graders as part of a specialized EBD (Emotional and Behavioral Disorders) program. Beginning immediately and continuing through June 10th, you'll work in a structured, collaborative environment with a manageable caseload of just five students—allowing you to provide individualized attention and meaningful advocacy. This full-time position runs Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours each week. You'll have the benefit of two dedicated paraprofessionals in your classroom, ensuring that students' diverse needs are met and you receive daily support. The classroom serves students with varying schedules, including two on adjusted school days, making flexibility and compassion central to success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active teaching license with Special Education certification Experience in EBD or behavioral-focused classrooms preferred Familiarity with IEP development and implementation Strong behavioral management and de-escalation skills Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for supporting students with diverse needs
