Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as an ELA Inclusion Teacher, specializing in Special Education, in an engaging contract role near Whitakers, NC. This full-time onsite opportunity supports students at Northwest Collegiate Academy on their pathway to academic success. The role is available immediately and continues through July 2, 2027, aligning with the traditional school calendar (no ESY required). You'll benefit from interacting with a dedicated school community, developing creative educational solutions, and advocating for exceptional learners.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid North Carolina Exceptional Children (EC) teaching license, with qualifications to teach Special Education. Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or ELA Inclusion Teacher in school settings highly preferred. Strong understanding of inclusive classroom practices and ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning needs. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families. Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide ELA instruction and educational support in an inclusive setting for special education students. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and related service providers to ensure student success. Maintain accurate and timely records on student progress and compliance.
