Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your passion for special education and make a meaningful impact! This on-site opportunity focuses on supporting students with high behavioral needs in a self-contained Intensive Learning Center setting. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators to provide individualized support that truly changes lives. Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be central to creating a positive, structured, and nurturing environment for students with diverse and complex needs. There are multiple positions available, offering the unique chance to work alongside a strong team of professionals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active or pending New Mexico Special Education Licensure (open to candidates awaiting final approval) Experience working with students exhibiting significant behavioral challenges preferred Ability to adapt instruction and interventions for students with a range of learning and behavioral needs Strong skills in crisis prevention/intervention and positive behavioral supports Previous work in a self-contained classroom is a plus Team player with outstanding communication, organizational, and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored for each student's needs Utilize evidence-based practices for behavioral and academic support Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment Collaborate closely with related service professionals, paraprofessionals, and families Track progress and maintain clear, thorough documentation Foster resilience and success for students facing intensive behavioral and learning challenges
