Job Description:
Moravia School District is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Associates to provide 1:1 support to students with a wide range of academic and behavioral needs. This position may support students across lower elementary through secondary grades, and responsibilities will vary depending on the assigned student(s). Associates play a critical role in helping students access the curriculum, develop social-emotional skills, and succeed in the least restrictive environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized support to students as outlined in their IEPs or 504 plans. Assist students with academic tasks, classroom routines, and organizational skills. Support positive behavior interventions and help implement behavior support plans. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and other staff to ensure student success. Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and daily activities. Assist with transitions, therapies, and other specialized activities as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred. Experience working with students with disabilities or in educational settings preferred. Strong communication, patience, and collaboration skills. Ability to follow instructions, implement behavior plans, and maintain confidentiality. Flexibility to work with students across multiple grade levels and varying needs.
