POSITION SUMMARY

Teacher will provide specialized instruction and support to preschool students, ages 3â€"5, with a range of developmental and educational needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The
ECSE 1755
Teacher will provide push in support in the general education classroom to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes growth in communication, cognitive, social-emotional, adaptive, and motor skills. This position requires strong collaboration with general education teachers, families, paraeducators, related service providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must: Hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate. Possess endorsement(s) in one or more areas of special education. Hold an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement (ZA or ZS). Demonstrate knowledge of child development, with emphasis on: Language and communication development Cognitive development Social-emotional development Fine and gross motor development Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with families, paraeducators, and multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrate the ability to develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies that support language, communication, cognitive, and motor skill development. Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Experience with inclusive preschool practices and early childhood assessment tools is preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teacher will: Provide push in

teacher support in a variety of general education preschool classrooms throughout Berkley Building Blocks. Provide developmentally appropriate instruction and learning experiences that foster students' language, communication, cognitive, social-emotional, adaptive, and motor skills. Deliver individualized and small-group instruction and interventions aligned to each student's IEP goals. Utilize the HighScope curriculum framework and maintain anecdotal observations and documentation of student progress. Participate in Educational Planning Team (EPT), MET, and IEP meetings, including consultation, assessment, and pre-referral support as appropriate. Collaborate with families to strengthen home-school partnerships and support student development across settings. Facilitate parent education opportunities, support groups, and family-centered learning activities as appropriate. Develop and implement strategies to support family engagement and increase caregiver capacity in supporting student growth and development. Provide families with information regarding community agencies, programs, and resources that support young children and families. Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal special education requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
