Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting a young adult in a dynamic developmental camp setting. A contract paraprofessional is needed to provide dedicated behavioral support to a 19-year-old student with autism and intellectual disabilities. The assignment runs Monday through Thursday from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm on the following dates: July 6-9, July 13-16, July 20-23, July 27-30, and August 3-6. Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Previous paraprofessional experience, especially within school or developmental program settings Knowledge and understanding of autism and intellectual disabilities Familiarity with behavioral support strategies and positive behavior interventions Ability to build rapport with young adults and effectively support participation in group activities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Dependability and strong sense of responsibility throughout the contract periodKey Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one behavioral support tailored to the student's needs during camp activities Implement individualized strategies to encourage engagement, skill development, and constructive social interactions Collaborate with camp staff to adapt activities and ensure a safe, inclusive environment Monitor and note progress, assisting with personal care as needed Foster a welcoming, respectful atmosphere for all participants This seasonal position offers the unique opportunity to enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, enhance your hands-on skills, and make lasting connections.
