Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding summer assignment where you can make a meaningful difference in a student's educational journey. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher who values individualized instruction, close collaboration, and flexible summer hours. As a key support for a homebound student, you'll lead daily educational sessions and coordinate with virtual Occupational, Physical, and Speech-Language Therapy providers. You'll also have the support of an onsite paraprofessional, ensuring a cooperative, well-rounded approach to meeting the student's academic and developmental needs.
Key Qualifications:
Active Special Education Teacher certification Experience developing and implementing IEPs in individualized or homebound settings Confidence in working with multidisciplinary therapy teams, particularly through virtual platforms Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, paraprofessionals, and remote service providers Comfort supporting students with varied learning differences and abilities
Role Highlights:
Deliver instruction to a homebound student for a summer school program running June 1st through July 16th Collaborate closely with virtual OT, PT, and SLP professionals to address all facets of the student's education Guide and direct an onsite paraprofessional who assists during instructional hours (11:45am - 2:45pm) Maintain accurate documentation, progress records, and clear communication with the student's support team Foster an encouraging, supportive environment tailored to the student's strengths and needs This short-term opportunity is perfect for educators seeking to impact one student's summer with personalized support while enjoying flexible, mid-day hours.
