Job Description

Special Education Teacher Needed (San Diego) for Long-Term Sub Position w/Potential for Full-Time Position compensation: Salary DOE ($70,000 - 86,000); Intern Teachers welcome to apply ($60,000 - 65,000) employment type: full-time We are seeking an independent, ambitious, and passionate full time mod/severe credentialed teacher or mild/moderate credentialed teacher with Added Authorization Autism Spectrum Disorder who specializes or has an interest in Autism and other developmental disabilities. Our program is in the community of Ocean Beach in San Diego, California (we are 3 blocks from the beach!). We are a non-public school with 50 students with moderate/severe disabilities. Our program is designed to serve and help each individual student succeed, with half of their days spent out in the community targeting functional academics, language, and social skills. Our dynamic multi-disciplinary approach, intimate classroom size, community support, and great location have helped our program grow consistently throughout the past 20 years. We need someone who is organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and a team player. Our teachers collaborate with SLPs, occupational therapists, BCBA's and 1:1 aides to promote student success in a caring and fun environment. Our program follows a traditional academic school year calendar (September - June) with 7 additional weeks in the summer for our extended school year (July-Aug). This schedule offers 150 days of time off scattered throughout the year. We offer medical, dental, vision, 401K with 4% matching (after 1 year) and other insurance options available after the first 30 days of employment. We offer Paid Sick Leave and PTO, which begins accruing on your first day. We also have a student loan repayment program after one year of service without supervision.
