Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a unique opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist providing life-changing support for a middle school student who is medically fragile and bed-bound. This contract position, based just 15 minutes west of Philadelphia, offers a meaningful, year-round assignment extending through the end of the 2027 school year. You'll deliver in-person therapy to a student whose family primarily communicates in Spanish. Bilingual (Spanish/English) SLPs are especially encouraged to apply. However, applications from all credentialed school-based SLPs (SLP-CCC) are welcome—an interpreter can be contracted if a bilingual provider is not available. In this role, you'll collaborate with occupational and physical therapists, dividing a total of 7.5 hours weekly, with 2.5 dedicated to speech-language services. The district values consistency and seeks a provider able to commit for several years, fostering continuity for the student and family as their needs evolve.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Speech-Language Pathology license with CCC required School-based SLP experience, preferably with medically fragile or complex-needs students Native or fluent Spanish speakers strongly desired, though all SLPs may apply Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary therapy teams Strong communication and documentation skills Compassion, flexibility, and a commitment to long-term serviceResponsibilities:
Deliver in-person speech-language therapy tailored to the needs of a bed-bound student Coordinate with OT and PT to ensure holistic, student-focused care Engage thoughtfully with the student's family, adjusting communication methods as needed Track progress, complete records, and attend relevant meetings Anticipate possible increases in hours as the student's schedule stabilizes Picture yourself making a lasting difference for a student and family needing your expertise and empathy.
