CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sports + Recreational Designer to join our Sports Team in Hartford, CT; Portland, ME; Providence, RI; Boston, MA; or Norwell, MA. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of sports and recreation facilities-supporting projects that range from competitive stadiums and multi-use athletic complexes to community fields and training venues.
What You'll Do:
Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of plans, specifications, and reports for sports facility projects including athletic field layouts, playing surfaces, spectator amenities, and supporting infrastructure Develop design calculations, technical memorandums, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers or technical leadership Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard engineering practices and relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements specific to athletic and recreation facilities Monitor project progress and coordinate design efforts to support schedules, budgets, and overall project delivery Take responsibility for significant portions of sports facility projects with oversight from senior staff or management
What You Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required Experience on construction project sites, interfacing with client and contractor Strong working and theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply engineering knowledge in practical settings Understanding of QA/QC procedures and regulatory standards Proficiency with AutoCAD as well as Microsoft Office required Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $110,000 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
