Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Hinesburg, Vermont. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring the integrity of ledger balances through detailed analysis and reconciliation. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of accounting deadlines.
• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to support accurate financial reporting and proper account classification.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high level of accuracy.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Complete bank reconciliations regularly to verify cash activity and identify discrepancies for follow-up.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information, clarify accounting issues, and support day-to-day reporting needs.
