Description Do you want to be part of the core team at Amazon building the Checkout experience that hundreds of millions of customers across the world use everyday? Checkout is part of the Purchase Experience organization whose mission is to offer the most trusted and delightfully easy purchase experience on Earth. We offer the touchpoints that empower customers to collect and manage the items they intend to buy; provide the critical order details that enable them to make informed purchase decisions; surface contextual product and program-related benefits/recommendations to help them basket build and deepen their relationship with Amazon. We celebrate purchase completion while guiding them towards the next step of their shopping journey. Our team of builders owns the software, systems, and processes that enable 300+ teams to innovate on behalf of our customers each year in the final stages of a customer's shopping journey. Key job responsibilities You will drive Checkout's strategy to scale our modernized purchasing experience to new use cases, surfaces, and customers across the world. You will identify and influence the prioritization of innovative, scalable solutions to enable Checkout to more effectively meet the unique needs of customers. You will have the opportunity to work closely and collaborate with senior leaders across Amazon, product managers, UX designers and business intelligence engineers to innovate, measure, analyze and refine the experiences we deliver to millions of customers across the planet on a daily basis. You will lead Checkout 2-pizza teams int he US, but also partner teams, to identify and prioritize needs, influence up and across the organization, and synthesize a variety of technologies and capabilities to deliver the most trustworthy and delightful shopping experiences customers love. Successful candidates will have experience working in a high pace environment, have strong bias for action, ownership, and be comfortable in working in an ambiguous environment. To be successful, you'll need customer obsession, the ability to think big, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to deliver results via a strong bias for action. A day in the life As a member of one of Amazon's most critical customer-facing teams, you will lead your teams to innovate on the Checkout experience and have the opportunity to build relationships and collaborate with the hundreds of internal customer teams that innovate across Checkout, gaining rare insight to Amazon-wide strategic initiatives and priorities. Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment Preferred Qualifications
