Job Description

Position Summary Summit City Steel Erection, LLC (SCSE) is growing and looking for a driven, people-focused Recruiter with construction industry experience to own our talent acquisition efforts. This is a mid-level HR position with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting for SCSE's field, shop, and office operations, from job posting through offer stage, partnering closely with field leadership to keep crews staffed and moving. In addition to recruiting, the role contributes to core HR functions including onboarding, recordkeeping, and employee support, making it a great fit for a recruiter who brings broader HR experience and wants to stay connected to the full employment lifecycle. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and energized by the challenge of sourcing skilled trades talent in a competitive market. Familiarity or implementation experience with BambooHR is a plus. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Manage full-cycle recruitment for field, shop, and office positions including ironworkers, crane operators, field supervisors, shop staff, and administrative staff Draft and post job postings across relevant platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, trade-specific boards, etc.) Source and pipeline candidates proactively for high-turnover and hard-to-fill positions Screen resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers Extend offers and coordinate pre-employment requirements (drug screens and DOT physicals where applicable) Maintain Applicant Tracking System Conduct candidate communication in a timely, professional manner Build and maintain relationships with local high schools, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and workforce development organizations General HR Support Assist with new hire onboarding, orientation, and documentation, as well as offboarding Assist with maintaining accurate employee records in HRIS Provide additional HR support during employment life cycle as needed Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of HR experience with proven track record in recruiting and talent acquisition Experience in construction or skilled trades Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interface professionally with field crews, management, and external parties Working knowledge of employment law fundamentals (FLSA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, at-will employment) High degree of organizational skill and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Preferred Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience Experience with BambooHR, including setup, configuration, or implementation support Familiarity with
DOT/FMCSA
