Summit City Steel is hiring crew members for structural steel erection across Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. Whether you already know the trade or come from a construction background and are ready to learn, we'll put you on a crew, train you up, and provide opportunities to grow. We're looking for dependable, hard-working individuals ranging from entry-level construction workers to experienced ironworkers and steel erectors who can mentor others and help lead projects in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Assist with and perform structural steel erection: beams, columns, joists, bracing, metal decking, and connections Operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, and assist with rigging and crane picks Bolt-up, fasten, detail, and inspect steel connections per project specifications Read erection drawings, layout elevations/reference points, and follow foreman direction Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite Experienced crew members may assist with mentoring junior employees, coordinating materials, and supporting production goals

WHAT YOU BRING

Construction experience preferred — structural steel, ironwork, rigging, connecting, or general construction Experienced candidates should have strong knowledge of steel erection, bolting, detailing, and rigging Ability to read blueprints and erection drawings is a plus Physically able to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in varying conditions Reliable, hard-working, and willing to learn and grow within the trade Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required OSHA 10 is a plus but not required — we'll help you get certified

Pay:

$26.00 - $34.00 per hour
