Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Bessemer, AL

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Current, active RN license Previous experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit Demonstrated skill in managing long-term ventilator weans Strong understanding of cardiac and respiratory patient populations Valid ACLS and BLS certifications Excellent clinical assessment abilities and communication skills Reliable, adaptable, and a supportive team player

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to Stepdown patients, including those requiring prolonged ventilator support Monitor patient conditions, recognizing changes and intervening as necessary Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate and implement individualized care plans Educate patients and family members on health conditions and ongoing care Administer medications, perform interventions, and document all care according to facility standards Uphold all protocols, patient safety actions, and quality care initiatives
