Job Description

Overview:
Do you love retail management but want a better work-life balance? Do you want to actually look forward to coming into work? Do you want to know that your suggestions will be heard and evaluated by the owners themselves? Do you want to work at a store that is helping the local community? We're a family-run chain that emphasizes a strong work-life balance. That means no early mornings or late nights. That means we're closed on major holidays (including Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, etc). Plus, we offer paid time off that begins accruing on DAY 1. Also, we're VERY excited that we've grown big enough that we're rolling out a competitive benefits/pay package this summer. Sound interesting? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Store Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will be overseeing daily operations, driving sales, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. You must possess strong leadership skills, have a passion for retail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and team members. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the success of our store. It's also a great fit for someone that excels at product merchandising and has a good head (and heart) for managing a large amount of product in through the back door, onto the sales floor, and all the way out the front door. This is definitely not an office job! If this sounds challenging, then you're on the right wavelength! It IS challenging; there are new problems to solve every single day. We're not like other grocery stores…we are a liquidation outlet, and we experience large fluctuations in the amount of product that we have on hand on any given week, so we have an experienced crew to evaluate, price, and shelve all of these amazing products. Both leadership and grocery experience are must-haves. They go hand in hand, considering that a leader must have credibility to be able to lead, and your experience will give you the credibility that this job requires. Again, we have a good staff, and to be able to both lead and serve them requires that credibility. We also have a management staff that has been in place for years, so you'll be asked to bring your experience and leadership to a functioning team to mesh and improve and support our day-to-day operation. We are growing. We're looking for a leader to serve and assist the rest of the team so they can function like the rock stars that they are. We have 3 locations, all opened in the last 8 years. This is a great opportunity to grow with a flourishing business.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Monitor and control expenses.
  • Maintain a clean and organized grocery department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and communication.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience (5+ years) in management within the grocery or similar retail industry is a MUST .
  • Strong people skills with the ability to resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and develop a team.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for inventory tracking, sales reporting, and employee scheduling.
