Job Description

Student Worker -
Economics & Business StudentNumber of Openings:
1The Department of Economics and Business is seeking a reliable, friendly, and organized student worker to assist with front desk operations. As a front desk assistant, you will be the first point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the department.
Tasks Responsibilities:
Greet and assist visitors, students, and faculty in a professional and courteous manner.

Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.

Handle routine clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and data entry.

Assist with event planning and coordination, including preparing materials and setting up rooms.

Distribute mail and manage office supplies inventory.

Support departmental projects and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be a current student at OWU preferably enrolled in the Economics or Business program.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software.

Able to make Canva Fliers and materials.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Previous office or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
